Accessibility

Most of Durham Cathedral is accessible to wheelchair users via ramps and lifts, including the main entrance, museum, cafe and shop, and the north and south doors can be opened using low-level touch pads. Wheelchairs are available to borrow, there are two accessible toilets, an induction loop inside the cathedral, and assistance dogs are welcome. Note that some areas, including the tower, have stairs only, and a few spaces have uneven floors and low lighting. Accessible parking is available nearby on Palace Green (book by calling Durham University on 0191 334 2222); for help planning your visit, email visitor.desk@durhamcathedral.co.uk.
