On 9 May, we held our first concert in Amstelveen, bringing Tribute to Hans Zimmer by Mystery Ensemble to the atmospheric Sint-Urbanuskerk in Bovenkerk.
The evening was dedicated to the music of Hans Zimmer, one of the most influential film composers of our time. This was a tribute performance, with Zimmer himself not taking part, but his musical worlds filled the space unmistakably — powerful, dramatic and instantly recognisable.
Sint-Urbanuskerk gave our Amstelveen debut a special character. Its atmosphere turned the concert into something more intimate than a film spectacle, yet no less intense. The music kept its cinematic force, but gained the warmth of live presence.
For us, the first concert in Amstelveen opened a new page with a programme full of rhythm, tension and emotional charge. A city we had not played before met us through the sound of modern cinema — and the evening carried the unmistakable pulse of Hans Zimmer’s universe.
