Ilona Sofia Nastase (Soprano)

Ilona continues to refine her technique under mezzo-soprano Sarah Pring and vocal coach Ricardo Gosalbo, and she is looking forward to starting her Master's at the Royal College of Music in September.
Ilona Sofia Nastase is a Romanian classical singer currently studying at Trinity Laban Conservatoire as a Morag Noble Scholar.

She started singing at the Bucharest National Opera House as part of their Youth Chorus and performing small solos. Since then, she performed with Scottish Opera as part of their Young Company in the world premiere of RED by Karen MacIver & Jane Davidson, and she was a member of Glyndebourne Academy's 2024 cohort.

She further developed her skills in masterclasses with Sir Thomas Allen, Susan Bullock CBE, James Baillieu, and Ailish Tynan, garnering valuable experience.

Most recently, she had the honour of performing alongside Romanian soprano Rodica Vica in a sold-out concert at the Romanian Cultural Institute in London, and this past July she performed in Monteverdi's 'Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria' with Trinity Laban Opera at Blackheath Halls. Ilona was also a finalist of the Lillian Ash French Song Competition in 2025, and in 2026, she will be debuting the roles of Dorabella in Mozart's 'Così fan tutte' with Barefoot Opera, Mercedes in Bizet's 'Carmen' with Blackheath Opera, and L'écureuil in Ravel's 'L'Enfant et les Sortilèges' with Trinity Laban Opera.

Ilona continues to refine her technique under mezzo-soprano Sarah Pring and vocal coach Ricardo Gosalbo, and she is looking forward to starting her Masters at the Royal College of Music in the upcoming September.
